Save those Cricut mats

I just have to tell you, I absolutely love my Cricut die-cutter. If you are a Cricut user, you know exactly what I'm talking about :o) With the holiday season coming up, I've been making so many things that the Cricut mats become "un-sticky" very quickly! Well, time for a wallet saving tip, and who doesn't need that these days!

I have no idea who came up with this, but a friend shared it with me...when your mat is used up and about ready to discard, try this instead. Take a baby wipe and wipe it off really, really well, getting all those little itsy bitsy pieces of paper and whatever else off (doesn't have to be perfect though). When it's dry, take a ZIG glue pen with a wide tip (they're blue and can be found in most craft stores), and make your mat wet all over, coat it REALLY well. Set your mat aside and allow it to dry overnight. Believe it or not, in the morning, your mat will be perfect for many, many more cricut cuts! It is very sticky and this process can be done over and over. I haven't thrown one out yet, but I suppose it will happen eventually. So, save that $12.00 that you would use for a new mat and buy more paper LOL.
