Christmas is soon coming!

Have you noticed that it seems like Christmas comes earlier each year? I was amazed that I was seeing Christmas merchandise in the stores in August! I have been thinking about Christmas gifts earlier this year because I want to make a scrapbook of my children for the grandparents on each side. I think that personal gifts are enjoyed so much more sometimes than the last minute gifts, although it really is the thought that counts :o)

So, since we live in this digital age, I now have to go through mounds of pictures that I burned onto CD's, picking out the cutest pictures of my kids since they were born. It's fun looking at all the old pictures, but really hard for a mommy to pick out the very cutest ones!

A fun idea is to make an ABC album of each child. There are all sorts of chipboard and die cut letters on the market, including patterned letters and glittery letters. So, you can just get a box of the type that suits you and your scrapbook best and start there. Then, write each letter down the side of a piece of scrap paper and start thinking of words that describe your child. For instance, A- adorable, B-beautiful, C-cheerful and so on. A fun way to find words when you're out of ideas is to look through a dictionary or thesaurus. I've seen fun plays on word too, like X-xtraordinary and fun stuff like that.

Another fun idea if YOU are the grandparent is to save papers and little momentos that your grandchildren have made through the year and make scrapbooks with those items. Whether you save their treasures for years and give the scrapbook to the child when they are grown, or if you give the parents the new pages every year, some day that album will be such a wonderful treasure for that child.

Time flies by so fast and it really will be Christmas before we know it....so I'd better get a head start on those scrapbooks!

It was a dark and scary night....

Actually it was just a cold night....brrrr!!! Well, I made about 60 snack bags of candy this afternoon to be prepared, and guess what? Only two, yes 2 scary ghouls stopped by to trick or treat! Oh well....lots of candy for my piano students. IF they practice :)
